carpe diem

just teared like a baby watching dead poet's society.this is one film that not only evokes great insights and feelings of tragedy, but reaches deep into my heart and strings into coherence my feelings and sentiments over literature and poetry. it fully conveys the magic of written work and its one-of-a-kind ability to fill me up with passion. passion, fiery passion in life; a burning need to live life to the fullest and to die with no regrets. i couldn't have found a better way to put it than how kleinbaum did in my favourite quote of this 1989 masterpiece:
“We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. So medicine, law, business, engineering... these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love... these are what we stay alive for.”
carpe diem, every day, forever.

good indie,
