Sigh my train of thought is really messed up now... So please bear with me. I just feel as though I have so much that I have to say, but I can't seem to find the right words.

Everybody's so miserable here, and I hate it. I hate that we all seem to be blanketed by this silent obligation to put up a false jovial front. Why can't we say what's on our minds? Okay that was as good as rhetorical. We care way too much about how others perceive us, and end up losing ourselves along the way. Felt like screaming out in disbelief when I realised (once again) how fake we were being today, and how you were undoubtedly encouraging this atrocity. She was so self-piteous, and I admit I saw sense in the way he was behaving and how he was depriving her of an extra audience; he didn't want to entertain her bullshit any longer. But what he did after that completely erased whatever positive emotion I had developed at first.
About this whole self-indulgence issue, I believe I've had enough experience from a bunch of people so vastly different I can almost swear that they come from different species. I admit that we do make our own choices; we can choose to be happy, and that does indeed come with sacrifice. Some of us sacrifice the attention we long for, whereas for in other cases, simply pride. We are narcissists at heart.

Gonna be long night #2 here at starbucks
